Women’s Friday - “On the Road Again!”
It’s one of those days! A ‘travelin’ day. A day to work on the business - not in it.
I have to admit, I prefer not having to leave the house to do anything. Maybe except to wander to either porch for an a.m. or p.m. ‘break’.
However, we know that balance at any point in our lives is what we must achieve. It’s critical if we want to add value to years and wisdom to experience!
So for me, it means I have to be “on the road again”. I have to balance those quiet, cubby-hole office days with my Watson CD playing in the background while fingers fly across the keyboard - with travel days. Travel to make things happen or get things in place for something that’s getting ready to happen.
I have a background in O.D. (organization development), but my strong suit has never been the “organization” piece. In an effort to achieve balance - I’ve had to develop the skill of mentally calculating how to manage a travel day. Write down where I must be and then arrange every other ‘chore’ in sequence to make for an organized day in which I accomplish all.
It is a skill I think most of us who are ‘chronologically maturing’ through the 2nd half of the journey have acquired. I believe we develop specific skills out of the wisdom gained from experience.
I hear from women all the time how busy they are. I also hear how they’ve found ways to maintain balance in their businesses; professions; family and all the other aspects of life. It’s all about priorities!
I like what a number of the women have said - “God first, family 2nd and business 3rd. If I’m pursuing my God-given purpose ( and know it) then I’ve got one of my priorities in place. When my family is eager to be a helpful resource for me in every area of life - then my 2nd priority is obviously in place. . . and when I learn to balance working in my business with working on the business. . .well then I’ve got number 3 in place.
That is until one of the ‘balls’ I’m jugglin’ falls to the ground!
Well tomorrow is another day and I promise myself I’ll get everything back in proper perspective and all balls neatly in the air . . . . .
Have an awesome day with much love, great opportunities and all balls bouncing in the air!
